Sins of the Father

TOURING THE SCOTTISH BORDERS OCTOBER 2011
|
|
Rowan Tree Theatre Company's latest production Sins of the Father, by Tom Murray, will open at Bowhill Theatre, Selkirk, with two performances on Friday 30 September and Saturday 1 October, prior to a tour of the Scottish Borders throughout October.
Written by Scottish Borders based writer Tom Murray, Sins of the Father was the joint winner of the inaugural Rowan Tree Playwrighting Competition at Eastgate Theatre, Peebles. Tom is currently Creative Writing Fellow to Tyne and Esk Writers, following on from a four year spell as Writer in Residence to Clackmannanshire Council.
This is tense, passionate, edge-of-the-seat theatre at its best. The winds batter a remote cottage in the Borders. Emma enters this "animals' lair" for her long planned encounter with its owner, Robert. Years before, the worlds of Robert's father and Emma's mother collided in a way that would affect their children's lives forever. Today, that situation is going to be resolved.¦
The production is brought to life by two superb Scottish actors Lesley Hart as Emma and Jordon Young as Robert and directed by John Carnegie. John is no stranger to Rowan Tree, having directed the workshop version of Sins of the Father, Frederic Mohrs Barry, his own Hermiston and Confessions of a Justified Sinner for the company. Production stylist is Gregory Smith.
Rowan Tree Theatre Company is proud to bring Sins of the Father to full fruition in this production.
The production is sponsored by Stobo Castle, Bucccleuch Group and supported by Scottish Borders Council.
